Rhiannon Criscuolo

My name is Rhiannon Criscuolo, and I would like to introduce myself as your Director at the Burke location.   I have a degree in Liberal Arts and a Child Development Associates (CDA).   I have been an Instructional Assistant at Sylvan Learning Center, an Assistant Preschool Teacher, a School Age Teacher, Lead Preschool Teacher and an Assistant Director before becoming Director.  My husband, Chris, and I have a daughter, Penelope who was born in 2016.  I enjoy arts and crafts, watching movies, reading, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with my family.  I started at Northern Virginia Academy in Burke in May of 2008 as Lead Teacher. Three years later I became Assistant Director and five years later became Director at Landsdowne II and then Burke campus.

I chose to work with children because it is extremely rewarding, and let’s be honest, fun! I want to help every child reach their full potential and my goal is to provide a safe and loving learning environment to ensure a solid foundation for their growth. I love to walk in to the classrooms and see the teachers engaging with the children and to see the children happy, smiling, and laughing.  The teachers and the children are having fun and learning together and that is very special to me.

As a parent myself, I understand that these children spend most of their day in our care. It is important to me that parents feel comfortable and go to work knowing that their child is safe, happy, and loved so much. I have been a part of the Northern Virginia Academy family for more than ten years now, because I am proud of the quality of care that we provide our children and families.
